Friday check-in at an Airbnb unit in Acqua Private Residences, where a cluster of towers leans over the Pasig River in Mandaluyong. From the windows the city sprawls out in a grid of lights, and the river slides by below — the kind of view that makes you stand there a minute before unpacking. This was home base for the whole Manila run from the 13th through the 16th: central enough to slip out to Rockwell, MOA, and the rest of the itinerary and still be back before the night thinned out, no long drives in between.
